Description

Delicious chocolate-covered cherry balls that are perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 2 tbsp bourbon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or shortening (optional)
  • Whole or chopped dried cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar gradually and mix until thick. Stir in cherries, pecans, bourbon, and vanilla.
  2. Chill mixture for 1 hour or freeze 20–30 minutes until firm. Scoop tablespoon portions and roll into balls. Chill again 20 minutes.
  3. Melt chocolate with optional coconut oil. Dip each chilled ball into melted chocolate and place on parchment. Add a cherry garnish before chocolate sets.
  4. Let chocolate harden 15–20 minutes before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Make sure to chill the mixture well to make rolling easier.
