Description

This Golden Flaxseed Bread is a nutritious and gluten-free alternative for your daily bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 240 grams whole golden flaxseed
  • 4 Tbsp psyllium husk powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ⅓ cups hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 356 °F/180 °C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Blend the whole flax seeds in an electric spice/coffee grinder until floury.
  3. Transfer the flaxseed meal to a medium-large bowl and ensure you are using 240 grams.
  4. Add the psyllium husk powder, baking powder, and salt, then stir with a spoon.
  5. Pour in the hot water and mix with the spoon, kneading it with your hands for up to 30 seconds, once cool enough to handle.
  6. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a round disk.
  7. Wet the top of the dough, sprinkle with extra whole flax seeds, and bake for about 50 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and enjoying.

Notes

  • Follow metric measurements for exact results.
  • When measuring ground flaxseed, do not measure by volume as the volume will increase significantly after grinding.
